Protagonist: Shen Ye, 28 years old, clinical psychologist
Specializing in the intergenerational transmission of trauma. She has published seven SCI papers and taught graduate students about "how trauma is engraved in genes", but she didn't know that she was the best case.
She has had a recurring dream since she was ten years old: standing in front of an old house, waiting for someone. I waited for eighteen years and never got it.
After her mother drowned, she returned to her hometown and found that the old house in her dream was the place where her grandmother lived before she got married. The clothes in the dream were exactly the same as the ones my grandma wore in the only photo.
She started investigating. The more I checked, the more I discovered: my grandmother's story, my mother's story, and my own story were forming a complete circle.
