How Can an Outdated Cultivation System Escape the Stars?

(Not a wish-fulfillment novel, just a particular premise)

Song Zhen transmigrates to the future and discovers that cultivation, which was supposed to be something you could only understand but never put into words, has suddenly become systematic. After looking into it, he finds that science is at work. He is deeply curious about it.

But his cultivation is too weak, so he can only focus on leveling up and growing stronger before gradually investigating the situation. Only then does he begin to understand the possible nature of the world and what might lie at the foundation of cultivation.

(The early chapters lean toward traditional cultivation; later, the story explores so-called scientific cultivation, or perhaps the underlying nature of cultivation.)
