Guizhou Folk Customs

This book conducts a series of studies on the folk culture of ethnic minorities, especially the folk culture of ethnic minorities in southwest China, such as folk beliefs, ethnic festivals, and the protection and inheritance of ethnic culture. Folk beliefs are mainly studied from aspects such as their evolution, their relationship with the social construction of immigrant families, and their expression in tourism development; ethnic festivals are mainly studied on the cultural characteristics, social functions and values ​​of festivals such as the Miao Village Guzang Festival, Shui Mao Festival, Buyi "June 6th" Festival; the protection and inheritance of national culture mainly focus on the collection and arrangement of first-hand materials on folk culture such as ethnic music, sports, embroidery, rice farming, village landscape culture, funerals, and inscriptions. This book covers the folk culture research of multiple ethnic minorities in Southwest China from the perspectives of anthropology, sociology, art, folklore and other disciplines, providing fresh first-hand information for further research on ethnic minorities in Southwest China.
