[Gentle professor × retired military officer turned CEO]
Both devoted only to each other + childhood sweethearts + no tough-girl heroine + sweet doting romance
During his final mission before retirement, Gu Yushen spots someone from behind who looks just like his girlfriend.
After the mission, he returns to his dorm and finds Jiang Yan, who has traveled all the way from Yuncheng, waiting outside his door.
Jiang Yan has come to drag him back to Yuncheng. Back then, he had gone so far away for his own reasons without telling her. After crying for days, she decided to go find him.
When Gu Yushen sees the familiar figure he hasn’t seen in so long, his voice catches. “What are you doing here?”
“Am I not allowed to come?” Jiang Yan asks in return.
“You are, of course.” Gu Yushen walks over, pulls her into his arms, and speaks gently.
But Jiang Yan pushes him away. “Stand up straight.” Gu Yushen looks at her, confused.
“Yanyan...” Gu Yushen starts toward her, but she stops him.
“Stay right there. Don’t move.”
After retiring, Gu Yushen quickly gets engaged to Jiang Yan, afraid she might run away.
The mastermind behind what happened back then is finally uncovered, and everything is settled.
