A thousand years ago, a Divine Tree from outer space descended to Earth. An alien woman named Otsutsuki Kaguya arrived on Earth alongside it.
After taking root, the Divine Tree kept absorbing Earth’s energy. Earth refused to be destroyed without a fight, and so it gained self-awareness. But the Divine Tree’s power blocked it from finding a savior in its own time and space, so it transmigrated to another time and space and randomly chose a wandering boy. The boy was then transported to this world.
The energy needed to do all this was immense, and the boy fell asleep beneath the Divine Tree. Sensing that Earth’s consciousness had found a savior, the Divine Tree wrapped its withered vines around the boy, intending to absorb his life force. Earth’s self-awareness used its last bit of energy to protect him, and from then on, both Earth’s consciousness and the boy remained asleep.
Until one day, a woman returned to the foot of the Divine Tree.
