Spring Water and Watermelon

On a rainy day, she appeared before him in a thoroughly bedraggled state. He stared at her. “Aren’t you cold in this weather?” She replied coolly, “What’s wrong with this guy? Why are you staring at me?”

Xia Xixi doesn’t smile much. Her parents never paid much attention to her, so she’s used to keeping to herself. Then a boy comes along who makes her smile more and more. When she’s bullied, he stands up for her even though they don’t attend the same school. After the college entrance exams, she mysteriously disappears. In a fury, he calls in every favor he can, but still can’t find her. His eyes burn with anger as he snarls, “Xia Xixi, you’d better never show your face in front of me again. Otherwise, I swear I’ll kill you.” When they meet again, she’s a translator, and he’s her direct supervisor.

Story:

The girl rubs her eyes sleepily. “Mm, is it still dark?”

“Not yet.”

“What’s wrong with your voice? Are you feeling sick?”

“No.”
