This book uses the relevant urban land administration materials from Chongqing Municipal Archives and Chengdu Municipal Archives, combined with newspapers and periodicals and related treatises during the Republic of China, to explore the implementation of urban land issues and policies in Chongqing during the Republic of China, and examines the problems, solutions, implementation methods, public reactions, and social effects of the National Government's land administration. The land policy during the Republic of China focused on solving urban land problems, and "equal land rights" was the general principle of the National Government in solving urban land problems. During the Republic of China, the land administration practice of the National Government in Chongqing violated this principle and did not implement price increases to return it to the public. The role of urban land policy was difficult to play, and the purpose of solving construction funds and developing the city could not be achieved.

I especially liked the in-depth discussion of land issues during that period in the book, which I found very enlightening. Moreover, the author's research is very detailed, and he has detailed descriptions of the implementation of the policy and public reactions. I think this book is very helpful for understanding the social conditions of that special period, and I recommend you read it too!
