Gu Licheng and Li Mu became top-tier stars after starring in a drama, and they finally acknowledged their feelings for each other. Just as they thought they had found true love and Li Mu believed she was getting closer to her dream, a conspiracy years in the making dragged her into the abyss. To keep from holding Gu Licheng back, she cut off all contact with him, erased every trace of him from her online life, quietly left the country, and disappeared for six years.
When her mother fell gravely ill, she had no choice but to return home. She only wanted to spend her mother’s final days by her side, never imagining that Gu Licheng had been waiting for her all this time. She thought no one knew she was coming, but someone had waited for her at the airport for six years, certain she would return.
Everything had changed since six years ago. One of them had faded into obscurity, while the other had become a top-tier star. The two, who thought their paths would never cross again, came face to face the day after her mother died.
Over the past six years, Gu Licheng had bided his time and built up his power, securing his position as the entertainment industry’s reigning king. He had also been preparing to clear Li Mu’s name. After years of investigation and gathering evidence, he finally uncovered the truth about what had happened back then.
In the entertainment industry, destroying someone is easier than making them. He would use his influence to help her stand again and keep her safe.
She ran, and he chased, doing all he could to reach her.
Loving you was the right choice. Because of you, I became a better version of myself. I just happened to fall in love with you.
