At the dawn of chaos, pure energy rose to form the heavens, while turbid energy sank to form the earth. Countless races were born within them. Some possessed great wisdom, sensing the power that shaped the world and grasping the patterns governing the Great Dao. They cultivated peerless divine abilities, soared through the skies and burrowed beneath the earth, plucked stars and seized the moon, and could do anything. Some went even further, staking out their own domains, founding sects and claiming the title of Patriarch, worshipped by all living beings.
As the Great Dao turned and all things changed, the spirits waged ceaseless wars against one another. After countless ages of upheaval, the world was divided into five great realms: the Divine, Human, Demon, Devil, and Ghost Realms.
