Synopsis

This is a booklet about guiding reading. In order to guide everyone to read good books, Tsinghua University launched a book "Tsinghua University Students Should Read (Humanities Part)" in 1997, which recommended 20 Chinese cultural masterpieces, Chinese literary masterpieces, world cultural masterpieces and world literary masterpieces. The results were good and received positive reviews both inside and outside the school. According to the requirements of the situation and on the basis of summarizing past guidance on reading practice, the Tsinghua University Library stepped forward and invited professors from Tsinghua University's National College Student Cultural Quality Education Base, Xinya College, Academic Affairs Office, and School of Humanities to form an editorial committee to revise the 1997 edition of "Tsinghua University Students' Recommended Reading List (Humanities Part)" and form a new version of "Tsinghua University's Recommended Reading List." The books recommended in the new edition are, except for a few, good books that have been recognized by the world as enlightening as soon as they were published recently. They generally have classic characteristics and have been washed over the years. They are cultural heritages that are handed down from generation to generation, universal and authoritative.
