The Demon Catcher's Pet Shop

Five hundred years ago, a serpent demon wreaked havoc among humankind, leaving people destitute and the world in chaos. In those troubled times, capable men and women rose to the challenge. A demon hunter joined forces with a host of demons to fight the serpent and finally subdued it beneath the lotus pond at Yuqing Temple in Longcheng.

Today, five hundred years later, the population has surged and the environment has grown increasingly harsh. Few birds or beasts can cultivate into spirits anymore, but the demon hunter’s descendants still live hidden among ordinary people, getting by with a pet shop.

One day, Wang Shu, a descendant of the demon hunter, brought his pet dog Huanledou to Mount Cuiwei on the outskirts of Longcheng. His goal was to capture a fox demon that had settled on the mountain some time ago.
