The story begins with a young man who spends his days lazing around at home. Only after his mother urges him does he finally go out to get a haircut.
“Such a hassle. I really don’t want to go out again.”
The young man is insecure and somewhat gloomy, keeping his sunny side hidden deep inside.
Carelessly looking down at his phone as he walks across the road, he gets hit by a car.
“Ow, that hurt. It felt like someone kicked me really hard.”
In an instant, everything around him freezes as if a stopwatch has been pressed. Seeing the driver’s panicked expression and the bystanders gathering around in alarm, the young man realizes he is going to die.
Just then, a mysterious magic circle appears. A mysterious, blue, ghostlike goddess kisses the young man on the cheek, then sends him off to another world.
After his fall, the young man meets a new goddess who has shrunk in stature and cannot be returned or replaced, a black-furred beastman with a fierce gaze, a senior who cares for those who come after him, and the lively, kind-hearted heroine, Ora.
As time goes by, the young man gradually discovers the truth about the world he lives in. A blade hangs over everyone’s head, and it could fall at any moment.
The young man and Ora must leave behind everything familiar and set out along the path fate has laid before them. Their adventure begins in earnest.
When they reach the end of their journey, only one of them can witness what it means. The story’s ending is not perfect: one of them must make a sacrifice to open the way to its conclusion. The people of the continent have placed their hopes in these two and entrusted them with a great responsibility. Will they be able to welcome the dawn of a new world?
