[Both Leads Are Chaste] [Bad Ending]
A chance encounter brings two people together.
Gu Zhixia cannot accept his betrayal. She gives up on Leng Yechen completely and starts using him, while Leng Yechen pins baseless accusations on her and keeps her imprisoned at his side.
Xia Zhehao says through tears, “Darling, you said you were a rose covered in thorns. That’s all right. I’m willing to brave the brambles to hold you...”
His first love reappears, and in order to fulfill his five-year promise to Nangong Chuyin, he marries someone else while Gu Zhixia is heartbroken.
At his wedding, Gu Zhixia plays “The Wedding Dream.” She loves him but cannot have him. When the music ends, there is no pride or happiness on her face, only relief.
Gu Zhixia is attacked and dies on the swing chair he made for her, her death a tragic and beautiful sight.
Leng Yechen says, “Aren’t you the one who’s best at acting? So this is another performance, right?” Furious, he goes to her grave and vents his emotions.
“Looking back, what I once clung to was nothing more than a passing breeze.”
“A Chen, it’s time to wake up from the dream!”
