Synopsis

[The original novel behind the Huanyu Entertainment television drama of the same name, The Imperial Cuisine. Starring Xu Kai and Wu Jinyan. Original screenplay by Zhou Mo.] In the nineteenth year of the Yongle reign, the Ming Empire was at peace and prosperity, with envoys from every kingdom coming to pay homage. To host delegations from across the land, the Yongle Emperor sought out skilled female cooks and summoned them to the palace to serve in the Ming Imperial Food Bureau. After passing round after round of selection, the young Yao Zijin enters the Imperial Food Bureau as a palace maid. There she meets Yin Ziping, who comes from a family of beggars, and Su Yuehua, a gifted chef from a family of cooks. Within the deep palace, beneath red walls, golden tiles, and glazed roofs, the three women devise ingenious plans, create new dishes, and grow as they remain devoted to the pursuit of Chinese cuisine. Walnut cream, peach blossoms afloat, West Lake lotus seeds with ruyi bamboo fungus. Crab-stuffed oranges, braised pork, and jasmine soup with spring orchids and autumn chrysanthemums. Pots, bowls, and ladles clatter, while the fragrance of firewood, rice, oil, salt, and soup fills the air. Every bite and every sip is a feast for the tongue, a taste that lingers in the heart. Along her long road in the kitchen, Zijin gradually hones her culinary skills to perfection and puts her intelligence and ingenuity to work. From an unknown little palace maid, she rises step by step to become a female scholar and a palace chef. Along the way, she gains the friendship of the other women and meets Crown Prince Zhu Zhanji, with whom she finds a love that goes both ways. Within the palace’s red walls, they break free of their shackles and reach for each other.

Looking for Stories About Young Emperors and Empresses

Looking for a story where the male and female leads support and trust each other, gradually rising to become emperor and empress, with both career ambitions and romance. I've been watching the Cang Xuan storyline in *Lost You Forever* lately, and it really makes me want to read about a young emperor and empress like that.

This book is adapted from the original script of the TV series "Shangshi" [Love] Each character in the article has its own personality, and both the emotional development and changes and the timeline are more detailed and specific. The glorious grandson of the emperor, who refuses to surrender to the imperial power, is kind and gentle, is as bright as a spring flower, and holds the heroine Shuangwen's script in his hand. There are also the straightforward Zi Ping and the emotionally delicate Yue Hua. But among them, my favorite character is Meng Shangshi❤️. This book combines gourmet food + palace battles + ancient workplace promotion records + anti-imperial feudalism + female independence. Every character is remarkable and vivid. Looking forward to your comments after reading the book❤️

The real thing is to read the script, and you can definitely feel Zhu Zhanji's pampering and pampering for Zijin. There are written descriptions in the script. After getting married in the drama, sometimes I can't understand the way Zhu Zhanji looks at Zijin. The description in the script is a helpless and doting look, but in the drama, maybe Zhu Zhanji's expression is too subtle, and I can't see the helplessness and pampering. The script is more detailed, there are some scenes that are not in the play, and there are a lot of interactions between Zhu Zhanji and Yao Zijin that are not in the play. It is great. It really puts their faces on the screen. I can even imagine the expression of Zhu Zhanji played by Xu Kai. Ahhhh, it's great.

The author's writing style is very good. Putting aside the emotional drama, just cooking various dishes has detailed descriptions, which proves that the author has put a lot of effort into it instead of just sweeping it over. It is worth reading.

It's really good to read. There aren't many books like this where the heroine is a food minister. The text tells the story and is interspersed with various delicacies. It's very comfortable to read.
