The Scandalous Past of Santang Village

For generations, Santang Village has enjoyed the protection of fairies and the nourishment of three ponds. Its villagers are honest, simple, and hardworking. On the surface, the village seems peaceful and harmonious, but beneath that calm lie hidden currents: some are lazy and gluttonous, others selfish and thieving, lascivious, or involved in dirty dealings. Conflicts over interests never cease, while feuds between households, clans, and the village as a whole grow ever more intense.

The village endures disaster after disaster, changing amid conflict and suffering through reform. As it flourishes, its roots are cut away; as it develops, it falls into reverse decline, as if it has lost the fairies’ protection.

The male lead, Liu Xifeng, is stubborn. At one point, he leaves the village in search of food. In a hopeless situation, he perseveres, seizes a glimmer of hope, and is reborn. Faced with the village’s decline, he quickly spots a business opportunity and earns his first fortune. Then he rides the momentum, gradually building a large technology park, leading the villagers to prosperity and creating a beautiful home that neighboring villages can only envy from afar. With his immense credibility, he commands the region. Feuds between households, clans, and the village melt away. He unites the entire clan, and the villagers become prosperous and secure, striving ever onward. The fairies protect them once more, and the whole village reaches new heights.
