There is a technical term for people released from prison: “released offenders.” After they get out, they generally have three possible paths:
Some are taken in by others and quickly reintegrate into society as law-abiding citizens.
Some fall in with bad people, continue committing crimes, and become repeat offenders.
Others are left to fend for themselves, drifting into society as a destabilizing influence.
The male and female protagonists in this book represent all three types of released offenders. It is easy to turn toward evil, but hard to choose good.
From the first chapter, when they leave prison, to the last, when they finally make it through, they face countless hardships but never stop fighting. They struggle through finding jobs, making a living, starting businesses, making friends, falling in love, and building families. After overcoming one obstacle after another, they finally find their way into ordinary life and become ordinary members of society.
They are lucky. They succeed, and all ends well.
How they conduct themselves after prison reflects society's attitude toward them, and that attitude reveals how civilized and mature society is.
Every day, thousands of former inmates reenter society across the country. When they first get out, they are among the most vulnerable. Are there people or organizations who care for them and offer help? Can our society welcome them with open arms? Has it matured enough to accept everyone without disdain or rejection?
If you suffered a devastating defeat in life, would you still feel passionate about society? Would you still love life?
I dedicate this book to the outstanding gardeners who toil quietly day after day in special gardens, and to all the kind-hearted people in the world.
May everyone stay far away from crime.
Society needs tolerance and people need love. I hope that the great love of society will allow those who have had stains to be cared for and contribute to society and the country ❤️
Although this book has not yet written many chapters, the overall feeling is still good, the writing is smooth and the narrative is clear. In fact, everyone knows very well about prisons, and it is completely unnecessary to be positive for the sake of being positive. So it felt like there was a bit too much preaching.
After reading this book, I realized that money can take you to heaven or send you to hell. If you don't have the money to go to heaven or go to hell, you have to live an ordinary life on earth. I think ordinary life is too good.
