The Substitute's Reversal

My boyfriend is a huge fan of a certain A-list actress. He won’t even buy me a taro cake that costs a little over thirty yuan, but he’ll happily spend two months’ salary voting for the actress. His wallpaper, profile picture, and social media cover photo are all gorgeous pictures of her. He even had a life-size doll of her custom-made for our bed. If I say even a couple of words about it, he looks at me like he’s completely disappointed in me. “Can you stop being so obsessed with competing against other women? I guess what people say online is true: women are the ones who hate women the most.”
