Tom and Jerry

At four in the morning, I got a phone call.

“Your blanket fell off. Pull it back over you, or you'll catch a chill.”

Then the voice on the other end repeated, “Your blanket fell off. Pull it back over you, or you'll catch a chill.”

The voice was spine-chilling, hoarse, and crackling with static. I couldn't tell if it was a man's or a woman's voice.
