Stay Away from the Sly Heartthrob

[Strong female lead + a complicated mix of elements + self-substitution fiction]

[High-stakes, jaw-dropping twists and intricately crafted plotting]

[The Liu Nian arc is sweet; the Nanyang arc reveals the truth]

A handsome new student recently transferred to her school. He was top of his class, and by a strange coincidence, he sat right behind her.

He seemed refined, easygoing, and well-mannered.

But who would have guessed he was actually a schemer!

His arrival turned her whole life upside down...

Spoilers below

Chen Ziwen: Beneath his gentle smile lies a heart twisted and shattered by love turned to hate.

Nanyang: Strong-willed, powerful, and beautiful, she spends a life toyed with by fate. Her lover kills her and uses her as a stepping stone to success. After witnessing the world’s cruelty, she ultimately dies fighting the gods for power, leaving behind only Liu Nian to keep the memory-wiped Chen Ziwen company.

From Liu Nian’s perspective, this is a happy ending. Her love with Chen Ziwen remains so pure, romantic, and beautiful.

But for Nanyang, it’s a tragic ending. In the end, she is left with nothing at all.

Nanyang claims at every opportunity that she can’t stand the love between those two, yet she spends the whole story helping their romance along. You could say there would be no love story between Liu Nian and Chen Ziwen without Nanyang.

(And of course, our Nanyang deserves a pretty cover!)
