This book tells the story of Mao Xiaofang, a Celestial Master who travels south with his apprentice A Fan to destroy a Qing dynasty Zombie King. His exploits make him famous, but also stir the jealousy of Zhong Jun, the charlatan leader of the Seven Sisters Hall, turning them into bitter rivals. Though Mao Xiaofang and Zhong Jun are at odds, he wants to take her younger brother Zhong Bang as his disciple, since Zhong Bang is a rare prodigy born once in five generations. While searching for the Zombie King, Mao Xiaofang meets Yang Feiyun, and the two become close friends. Zhong Bang is eventually moved by Mao Xiaofang's sincerity and becomes his disciple. But Yang Feiyun frames Mao Xiaofang, causing him to mistakenly kill the little zombie Xiao Zun. Zhong Bang misunderstands Mao Xiaofang and leaves him...
