"Jiangnan Great Chinese Medicine" is a long historical novel. Through the historical time and space of nearly a hundred years from 1860 to 1945, the novel describes in a realistic way the four generations of famous doctors of "Qing Yu Tang" in "Qing Yu Tang in the south and Tong Ren Tang in the north" adhere to the family rules of "cultivating harmony and benevolent virtues, helping the world with understanding" and the ancestral motto of "benevolent hearts and benevolent techniques to cure diseases, and inheriting ancient methods to prepare good medicines". The focus is on the sketches of Zhang Bentai, Zhang Renhai, and Zhang Renshan's ancestors and grandsons in terms of their medical skills, benevolence, virtue and solar terms. It highlights the upright energy formed in Zhang Renhai and Zhang Renshan under the training and influence of their grandfather. Especially during the Anti-Japanese War, with the assistance of his brother Zhang Renhai, Zhang Renshan fought wits and courage with the Japanese and traitors, and finally saved the national treasure "Authentic Chinese Medicine and Surgery" (written by Chen Shigong, a famous doctor in the Ming Dynasty). I especially like the character Zhang Renshan. During the Anti-Japanese War, he fought wits and courage with the Japanese and traitors, and preserved the national treasure. It is really admirable. There is a sentence in the book that impressed me deeply: "Cultivate the art of benevolence and virtue, and save the world with inner knowledge." This sentence perfectly reflects the responsibilities and mission of doctors. However, I kind of hate that traitor, it's so abominable! Overall, this is a book well worth reading.
