(Just so you know in advance, the romance isn't that prominent.)
Jiang Feishan was once the brightest and most free-spirited woman in the imperial capital: a noble daughter of the imperial city, cherished by the Empress Dowager, but suspected by the emperor. After the borderlands were secured, the emperor ignored the Empress Dowager's objections and wiped out the entire Jiang clan. The Empress Dowager felt indebted to the Jiang family and threatened to take her own life, only managing to save Jiang Feishan. The Crown Prince and the young masters of the Chen and Cui families were nearly punished for pleading on Jiang Feishan's behalf. She quickly hid her brilliance, became a dutiful girl at the Empress Dowager's side, and obeyed her by marrying into a family in Yancheng. There, she lay low and bided her time, preparing to take revenge. During this period, she and Jiang Ziqing supported each other as she helped the Jiang family plan its entry into officialdom. The young master of the Cui family helped the Jiang family commit crimes; although this disrupted Jiang Feishan's plans, it also turned out to be a good thing. She prepared to return to the imperial capital, divorce Jiang Ziqing, and assassinate the emperor. Jiang Ziqing, too, risked the destruction of his whole clan to help Jiang Feishan kill the emperor. Jiang Feishan put the Crown Prince on the throne and took up a post as a female official.
But after several years away from the capital, the Crown Prince became emperor, Chen Ming became a general, and the young master of the Cui family gained power in the Ministry of Justice. Everyone now had their own unspoken troubles. How would they balance power and love?
The romance is light. Thank you, everyone~
