The Lonely Sage, a Drinker of Wine

The tide of the world rolls on,

Those who follow it prosper; those who oppose it perish.

A sage contemplates the Way across time and space: seas become fields, and flowers bloom and fade.

A drinker savors his wine: blades flash, and death follows life, again and again.

The past is old and painful to revisit; so much remains unresolved.

Heaven and earth reversed, yin and yang turned, a past life repaid in this one.

Sages? Drinkers? History?

It is all the jianghu.
