Introduction
This book is one of the "Youxue" series. It is a revised and reprinted version of Professor Chen Shengxi's "Unique Views on the History of the Ming and Qing Dynasties." The book is a collection of several related papers on the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It mainly discusses historical topics such as the war between the Ming and Qing dynasties, the invasion of Qing troops, the surrender of Wu Sangui, the historical facts of Chen Yuanyuan, the murder of Mao Wenlong, and the order to shave heads in the early Qing Dynasty. It refutes some historical factual errors that have been passed down to this day, and is a model work for historical research on the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.
[About the author]
Chen Shengxi, born in Qianxian County, Shaanxi Province in 1932, graduated from the History Department of Nankai University in 1956. In the same year, he studied for an associate degree in Ming and Qing history with Professor Zheng Tianting and became a history professor at Nankai University. He is the author of "Unique Views on the History of the Ming and Qing Dynasties", "The Vicissitudes of Life" (annotation), "An Introduction to the Study of Qing History" (co-author), "The Twilight of the Empire - Zhang Juzheng and the Wanli New Deal" and "The Fall of the Ming Empire". He presided over the compilation of "The Royal Reader of Zizhi Tongjian", "The Royal Reader of the Analects of Confucius", "The Royal Reader of Mencius", "Mingjian of State Administration", etc., And compiled the series "Collection of Political Books" (10 volumes). He published dozens of academic papers such as "The Qing Troops Entering the Pass and Wu Sangui's Surrender to the Qing Dynasty", "An Examination of Chen Yuanyuan's Deeds", "Historical Choices in the Ming and Qing Dynasties", "Why Qin Shihuang Burned Books and Confucianism", "Rediscussing Li Yan", etc.
