A Metaphysics Master Reborn as a Substitute Binds to a Merit System

[Transmigrate into a Book] [System] [Metaphysics] [Subverting Expectations] [Goofy] [Male Pursues Female]

#Question: What's it like being a stand-in?#

Xu Nanqi: Thanks for asking. It's great.

Xu Nanqi transmigrated twice and died twice. On her final go-round, she became bound to a Merit System, with less than an hour left to live.

System: Host, earn merit immediately!

Xu Nanqi: Thanks a lot!

To stay alive, Xu Nanqi is forced to start catching ghosts, telling fortunes, and reading feng shui. Before long, a crowd of big shots are singing her praises.

Famous director: Master Xu, save my life!

Business tycoon: Master Xu, please tell my fortune!

Award-winning actor: Master Xu...

Later, she realizes that following the plot is actually pretty great. When she tries to set up the heroine and the male lead, he pins her against the wall and says, "Honey, I was wrong. Don't push me away!"

When her professional skills are questioned:

A: What can Xu Nanqi do? She's just a stand-in.

B: She told my fortune, and it was completely wrong!

C: I saw her get scared half to death by a ghost herself!

The male lead sends them all flying: "You dare badmouth my wife? Get lost!"
