This book takes the protection of intangible cultural heritage as the starting point and introduces Chinese characters and their related history, genealogy, writing, preservation and communication, national characteristics and protection, etc. The book integrates knowledge, interest and artistry, and the language is simple and easy to understand. The book is equipped with a large number of precious pictures taken by the China Memory Group of the National Library. It is rich in pictures and texts and is highly readable.
