Chi Yiheng is a legendary figure in Haicheng. They say he's decisive and keeps women at a distance. Any woman who comes within three feet of him gets struck by his “killing aura.”

His friends finally manage to wait for him to return to Haicheng, only for him to disappear again for half a year. When he comes back, people see a bright, gorgeous woman by his side, and the news spreads like wildfire.

At first, everyone thinks it's just a game. But some people witness Chi Yiheng crouching in a crowded shopping mall, tying her shoelaces with his own hands, then carrying her through the sea of people on his back.

Sharp-eyed onlookers notice that the woman following Chi Yiheng bears an eight-out-of-ten resemblance to the former eldest daughter of the Shi family in Jiangcheng.

Before long, rumors are swirling that the Shi family's eldest daughter was once Chi Yiheng's one true love.

The woman's identity is also exposed: she's a girl from an old mountain village in a backwater town. Their backgrounds are worlds apart, so how could she ever marry into a wealthy family?

Just as everyone starts a betting pool, guessing when Chi Yiheng will dump her, the man drops to one knee, holding a diamond ring and coaxing her softly:

“It was you then, it's you now, and you're still the one I love most.”
