86: I Lead My Legion to Conquer the Apocalypse

(The synopsis isn’t doing this story justice, so please read the novel. This is not a traditional apocalypse.) Yun Di was an ordinary office worker watching anime at home when the apocalypse arrived with a sudden “pop.” He stared at the chaotic world in bewilderment. Just as the zombies outside were about to get in, his cheat ability appeared.

Only, this cheat seemed a little different. Other people’s Systems helped their Hosts soar to the top, but Yun Di’s System was clearly not “the kind of System other people get.”

System: “This Host is hopeless. Why are you so useless? Come on, kid, do you crave power? Today, it’s not 998, just 888, and you can take home a power-up gift pack.”

Yun Di: “You damn System, you turned me into a girl?!”

“Host, think about it. If you become a girl, won’t you be able to seduce people... I mean, make better use of your strengths? You have to trust me, Host.”

But Yun Di was never going to play along with the System’s plans, so...

Insectoids: “Crap, that bandit from last time is back! Queen, run! If we don’t get out of here, we’ll lose our pants!”

Space pirates: “Whoa... Are you the pirate, or am I? Here, take the gun and do it yourself.”

The gods of legend, killing time in the void with mahjong: “What on earth were we thinking, choosing this thing as our core Host? Is it too late to change our minds? The way that girl looked at us last time, it was like she was staring at a mountain of gold... Everyone, wait. I’m going to hide my little stash. I’ve been saving it for millions of years, so I can’t let it be found... Wait, what the hell! Where’s my treasure vault?! Girl, don’t run!”
