The Rules for Identifying Ghosts
1. The form in which a ghost exists, as well as when and where it appears, is completely random.
2. Ghosts invariably possess supernatural qualities that cannot be explained by any scientific principles.
3. No matter their condition, ghosts are always hostile toward living beings.
"Memorize these, rookie. This is your first assignment after joining the Human Department for the Safe Handling of Supernatural Entities. If you run into trouble on a mission someday, repeat them to yourself a few times."
"And finally, congratulations on joining us. From now on, you'll enjoy benefits that many people work their whole lives without ever getting, earn respect and admiration, and may even get the chance to wield humanity's most advanced technology and the power to protect others."
"At the same time, you need to prepare yourself mentally. From here on, your fate will have nothing to do with an ordinary life. You'll face horrors beyond imagination: natural disasters, monsters, gods, nightmares, and all kinds of bizarre things. And when that moment comes, you may find that death is a kind of release."
"Are you afraid? That's normal. But even if fear destroys your mind, you must not back down. You know what lies behind us."
"Oh, right. There's one last thing I need to tell you..."
"Don't mess with the people in the Eighth Operations Group of the Ningzhou Branch Intelligence Division. They're a bunch of lunatics."
