The Harem: The Story of Fuyun

Before entering the palace, Song Fuyun had imagined that she and he would be together for a lifetime, devoted only to each other. But fate had other plans. An unexpected selection of consorts shattered the happy, fulfilling life she should have had. They say people spend their whole lives troubled by what they could not have when they were young. But Song Fuyun thinks Emperor Jianzhao is trapped in his youth, and in the memory of the woman he once wronged. The harem is filled with three thousand beauties, each scheming to get ahead. Since she has already decided to fight, she will be the one left standing in the end. (The heroine never loves the emperor, from beginning to end, and he does not love her either. In public, she is rather aloof because she has too much on her mind and is afraid of making mistakes. Nor does she refrain from competing for his favor at the start. She sees how the emperor treats her, so she deliberately draws his attention!!)
