Passing the Ball to Yao Ming from the Start, Making the Big Shark Next Door Drool

No System, one heroine, and not a power fantasy: a traditional point guard story about gradual growth. He doesn't steamroll the league's stars from the start or drop 50 points in his first game. He's flawed, and gets better step by step. On a stormy night, basketball fan Xiao Qi is struck by lightning and unexpectedly brings his in-game talents with him to a parallel-universe version of the NBA. Among the 2003 NBA draft's “Platinum Generation,” a Chinese American player named Xiao Qi now takes the court. During the preseason, Shaquille O'Neal watches Xiao Qi pass to Yao Ming and murmurs, “If I had a point guard like that, I could win the scoring title too.” Deadly from three, a defensive wall, and a wizard with the ball: these become Xiao Qi's trademarks. He joins the Rockets in his rookie season, teaming up with sophomore Yao Ming, and begins a legendary story of his own.
