I Am a Puppet, Destined for Eternal Life

What if... I mean, what if I was already dead? Would that mean I couldn't die?

Despite his name, Gu Changsheng is short-lived, fated not to live past the age of eight.

Luckily, his grandfather is a puppeteer by family tradition, and turns Gu Changsheng into a puppet.

By embracing death, he finds life. From then on, he exists as half human and half ghost, outside the Five Elements.

“What?! The King of Hell wants my life? But I'm already dead, aren't I? You can't die twice!” Gu Changsheng declared.
