Classic Wuxia: The Silver Rabbit Rises in the East

Synopsis of the classic wuxia novel The Silver Rabbit Rises in the East:

At the morning market in Shaguoju, Old Master Li has been suffering from toothaches lately, making it hard for him to eat. A piece of “crystal pork knuckle” tastes fine, but in his mouth it rolls around and around, and he simply can't chew it or swallow it. “It's delicious... very delicious... it's just... too tough to bite...” As he speaks with his mouth open, saliva dribbles out. A rather pretty young attendant at his side hurriedly offers him a hand towel and respectfully wipes his drool. The three officials at the table all lean toward him, eager to please. One of them slaps the table. “Get the proprietor over here!” The proprietor hasn't dared leave in the first place. The morning market has just opened, and the room is full of officials, all of them at least fourth rank. He can't afford to offend any of them. At the shout, he hurries over and bows obsequiously. “What can I do for you, sir?” “Who else would I call on?”
