"Burning Sunset" tells the story of the generation in the 1950s, who entered a "free and comfortable" retirement life with the hope of a better life in the "second golden period" of life. Different perceptions and understandings of "free" life lead to different attitudes and different pursuits in retirement life; it also reveals the fission or reorganization of families due to changes in the concept of marriage and love; it also explains the meaning of different friendship relationships such as best friends and close friends; describes the collision between good wishes and objective reality in "love at dusk"; and how to deal with major life issues such as birth, old age, illness, death, life, separation, and death, etc.
