The Treasure Map: A Wuxia Novel

Synopsis of the wuxia novel The Treasure Map:

The book can be divided into two parts. The first half tells how the young Pu Tianjiang takes his father's place in the Tianchi Mountain martial arts tournament and wins the Five Ridges Divine Pearl, a treasure capable of uniting the Five Mountains. But he loses it through a moment's carelessness. Fortunately, he meets the young hero Lou Jun, who helps him investigate where the pearl has gone. Through a series of mishaps, he also becomes entangled in misunderstandings with Lou Jun's younger sister, Lou Chunlan. He has no choice but to search for the pearl alone. Along the way, a mysterious beauty helps him, and he finally recovers the treasure. Only then does he discover that the woman who has been helping him all along is Lou Chunlan. They fall for each other, and with Lou Jun acting as matchmaker, they become engaged. Unexpected calamities, however, ultimately separate the two lovers.

The second half tells how Pu Tianjiang meets the miserly old man Mu Cunzi and agrees to help him search for treasure, thereby offending Madam Chun, Chun Rulan, of Mongolia's Bihan Palace. Chun Rulan later takes the treasure through a scheme. To help Mu Cunzi get it back, Pu Tianjiang ventures deep into Mongolia. Along the way, he meets Chun Rulan's two disciples, Shangguan Qin and Shangguan Yu, and receives help from a mysterious boy in colorful robes. He infiltrates Bihan Palace and engages Madam Chun in a battle of wits and open conflict...
