Chang'an in the Tang Dynasty and the Civilization of the Western Regions (Two Volumes)

The book "Chang'an in the Tang Dynasty and the Civilization of the Western Regions" brings together 23 papers published by Mr. Xiang Da from 1926 to 1954 on the history of cultural exchanges between China and the West (not limited to the Tang Dynasty) and bibliography. These papers can be divided into four parts according to their contents: the first part, with four articles, mainly discusses the history of Sino-foreign cultural relations in the Tang Dynasty and the history of the ethnic minorities in southwest China; the second part, with ten articles, falls within the scope of Dunhuang studies; the third part, with three articles, mainly discusses the Buddhist stone carvings of Sheshan and the Western art introduced to China during the Ming and Qing Dynasties; the fourth part, with six articles, falls within the scope of bibliography. This book reflects Mr. Xiang Da's academic research achievements in history, history of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, historical and geographical archaeological research in the Western Regions, and Dunhuang studies.
