To Hell with the Heavenly Dao, I’m Going to Crush You

[Beast Taming + devoted couple, both strong + satisfying read + defense stacking + ensemble cast]

Everyone says that ordinary mortals cannot glimpse the Heavenly Dao. Yet during her time among the people, she is challenged again and again by the same question: Is the Heavenly Dao really right?

Is the Heavenly Dao that everyone is forced to obey truly the world's moral code, or merely the selfish desire of the powerful?

If the Heavenly Dao is the world's moral code, why do those who follow it faithfully sometimes end up dying without even a proper burial?

If the Heavenly Dao is the selfish desire of the powerful, why do those in high places also suffer crushing defeats in the struggle for power?

She moves through the crowds, witnessing all the world's splendor and decay. She loves this imperfect world, patched together as it is, and is willing to devote her life to it.

But the world is too broken. The more people try to hide the evil beneath its surface, the more clearly it is exposed. As the truth of the world breaks through layer upon layer of obstacles, she has no choice but to face it and press onward despite the challenges.

“How can anyone remain untouched while caught on the chessboard?”

“Heh, a mere grain in the imperial granary.”

“Heh, the Heavenly Dao?”
