Bo Jinghuan

If the most favored consort of the Jiayi dynasty were asked how she came to enjoy such a life of imperial favor, she might only reply, “Thunder and rain are both gifts from the sovereign.”

While others navigate the imperial harem through scheming and deceit, the Noble Consort has a powerful backer and rises steadily and safely, living to a ripe old age.

Ask Emperor Jiayi why he favors her, and even he cannot explain. Some people have only to stand there to claim all his attention.

[PS: This isn’t a story about loving only one woman among three thousand. The emperor is a very traditional ancient ruler, and the Noble Consort isn’t a ruthless woman who slaughters her way to the top. At heart, this is a sweet, pampering romance about a lucky Noble Consort who wins the emperor’s affection.]
