This book reminded me of the experience of a friend of mine, who also worked his way up from a small role in the company. Just like An Lushan in the book, he is not a bad person at the beginning, but as his power grows, people will change. I especially hate the character Yang Guozhong. He will do whatever it takes to get power and turn a good country into a mess. Fortunately, justice defeated evil in the end, just like the Anshi Rebellion was eventually put down. This book also made me understand that no matter what time, we must never forget our original intention.
It's very exciting, but unfortunately it seems to lack details about Li Bai and the story with Gao Lishi. Maybe it's just unofficial history, not official history.
