Dream Within a Dream

The plot and events in this story are entirely fictional. But the author’s confusion and uncertainty are real.

The author wonders if they might be lucky enough to meet someone like you: ordinary, perhaps even mediocre, but always hoping to catch a glimpse of life’s little surprises and joys.

Perhaps you even imagine opening up another world in a different era and living another kind of life.
