The book "The Philippines: A New Pearl on the Maritime Silk Road" is divided into five chapters. Through a combination of color photographs and text, it introduces the Philippines from several angles: an overview of the country and its cities, its history, historic sites, cultural figures, and vibrant folk customs. Its structure is carefully organized, and its presentation is both attractive and engaging. It aims to be informative as well as entertaining, offering readers not only knowledge of the customs and cultures of other countries, but also the pleasure of reading.
This book is really good! It detailed the history and culture of the Philippines and gave me a deeper understanding of the country. The photos in the book are also very beautiful, making me feel like I was actually there. I especially like the part about folklore in the book, it's very interesting! However, I am not too fond of some of the historical invaders mentioned in the book who brought misery to the local people. Overall, this is a book worth reading.
