It's Hard to Be the Empress: the Phoenix in the Cage Is in Trouble

The author Ting Zhou is a powerful author who is good at depicting characters, scene atmosphere, and exquisite and excellent writing style. This story originates from a real historical figure who was once forced to be a puppet empress. The author takes this character as a prototype and vividly depicts a tragic love story between a tragic woman who wants to break free from the ropes of fate and her three good ministers who assist her. The rough, stubborn, or crazy love entanglement between the heroine and the three of them deeply tugged at my heart. It was one of the few ancient sadomasochism stories I have ever seen that tortured me the most. I felt deeply sorry for the heroine's rough fate and tragic love, and I couldn't let go of her final tragic ending.

Very interesting. Both books are about women pretending to be men. I have always liked the second male lead. The ending of this book is quite good, but the last 1/3 is a bit rushed and the pace speeds up a bit which is different from the previous ones.

The plot of this book is so exciting! In particular, the empress' power struggle in the palace reminded me of workplace competition in real life. We are all working hard for our dreams, just like the empress trying to regain her kingdom. Moreover, the emotional entanglements of the characters in the book are also very interesting, which made me feel the complexity and preciousness of love. I think this book is worth reading and recommend it to everyone!
