The First Emperor’s Immortality

Xu Zhaolu went wild in the comments under a video about Qin Shi Huang on a short-video app

“My charming, handsome ancestor! You just wanted an elixir of immortality, didn't you?! Give it to him! Just give it to him!”

“What was Tang Sanzang doing? He walked eighty-one thousand li and still never ended up in my ancestor's mouth?!”

“Let me do it! Let me bring my handsome ancestor an elixir of immortality!”

Someone with the username “Qin Shi Huang's Dog” sent her a private message: Would you be willing to find an elixir of immortality for Qin Shi Huang?

Xu Zhaolu replied instantly: Absolutely!

The next day, Xu Zhaolu was dutifully digging in the soil at Qin Shi Huang's mausoleum. She kept digging until everything went black. When she opened her eyes again, she was in the State of Zhao during the Warring States period, where a group of people were beating up a boy.

A cold-faced girl claiming to be a System told her to save the boy in front of her.

“Why should I save him? Who is he?”

“He is Qin Shi Huang.”

“Stop! Don't hurt my ancestor!”

And so the story began, like a lively comedy.

But the Warring States era was more than just the Warring States. Across the distant sea was an immortal island, where everyone cultivated immortality.

The System was more than just a System. It was the remnant soul of someone with deep ties to Qin Shi Huang.

Xu Zhaolu was no longer just Xu Zhaolu. She became He Rang, a cultivation genius found once in a million.

Zhao Zheng was no longer just Zhao Zheng. He was Ying Zheng, the First Emperor, with grand ambitions to unite all under heaven, yet an ordinary man with no talent for cultivation.

Later

“Why are you so obsessed with the elixir of immortality?”

“The person I love went to the immortal island to find medicine for me, and has been gone a long, long time.”

His dark, inky dragon robe trailed across the floor. His deep phoenix eyes gazed beyond the palace hall. “She said that if I found the medicine, I would find her, too.”
