Dreams of Flowers in the Mirror and Reflections on the Water

He swept across the land with nothing but his mortal body;

Alone, he ventured into another world and accomplished deeds beyond compare;

In a fit of rage, he cleared the heavens and earth for the woman he loved;

He said: “If the invaders can come, then so can we. We must make ourselves strong.”

He said: “Born human, if you refuse to be controlled by fate, you must resist and fight. I do not ask to live as long as heaven and earth, only to die for a worthy cause.”

Amid the confusion, life’s experiences seem like dreams and illusions: at once within reach and impossibly distant.

Like flowers in a mirror and the moon reflected in water, they cannot be possessed, no matter how much we long for them.

A dream of yellow millet: in the end, the truth and falsehood of this world leave people disillusioned.
