At the crack of dawn, Bai Chunming was jolted awake by the blaring suona and commotion outside her house.
She hurried out of bed, grabbed a piece of clothing from the wooden bedframe and threw it on, then slipped into her cloth shoes and quickly pulled back a corner of the curtain. But the rotten old fabric tore with a rip, leaving Chunming clutching a large scrap of it.
Through the window, she saw a crowd of shadowy figures gathered in the little courtyard where she lived, while the suona played on without pause.
She had been forced to marry a sick man. Escaping that living hell was all she hoped for.
When that ray of light appeared, it gave her boundless courage and resolve.
This book is good. The author worked very hard to write about the twists and turns of rural areas, the ugly face of human nature, and the various kind-hearted people he met. Although Wang Jiaxing is disabled, he is still a good person, and the strange old lady and Agui are really good people!
I cried at the end! 👍👍
The changes and development trends of the times, the ugliness and kindness of human nature, in the end the positive energy wins out, and there are still many good people in the world
It's so well written, so thoughtful, and so close to life. I highly recommend it.
This is the only novel I have been able to finish listening to recently. It is very touching.
This book is well written, the plot is very touching, and it truly reflects the reality of the countryside at that time.
What a perfect ending! A true representation of the miserable life of rural women in the early 1980s! There is also the ugliness and beauty of human nature! Thank you to the author for this soulful work!!!!
The plot is full of ups and downs and very interesting.
It was so painful, it made me suffocate and despair. Fortunately, the hardship I endured finally gave me the happiness I have now🥰
This book is really well written and reflects the real life in rural areas.
