The Soviet-German Spy War

Trepper was born into a Polish Jewish family. Before the Second World War, Soviet intelligence sent him to Belgium, France, and other countries, where he led an intelligence network known as the Red Orchestra. His agents infiltrated Hitler's inner circle and obtained the most secret intelligence from the highest echelons of the Nazi command, helping the Allies defeat fascism. Later, the network was broken up, and Trepper and the others were arrested. Exploiting the enemy's scheme to split the anti-fascist alliance, he went on to conduct a counterintelligence operation known as the “Grand Game.”
