Tales of Republican-Era China

This is simply the story of an ordinary woman in Republican-era China. She has no great ambitions; she only wants to spend her life with the man she loves. She follows her heart and marries the man she likes, but after several years of marriage without a child, she suffers her mother-in-law's abuse. A few years later, she gives birth to a son and finally gets a break. But what awaits her is a separation from her beloved husband that ends in death. She lives through a time when bandits run rampant and witnesses the Japanese invaders attack her homeland. In the end, she resolutely joins the resistance against the Japanese.

This is mainly a farming-life story.
