Zhu Yuanzhang was poor when he was young and used to herd cattle for the landlord. In the fourth year of Zhizheng period, he entered Huangjue Temple and traveled around, gaining more knowledge. At the age of 25, he joined the Red Scarf Army led by Guo Zixing to resist the Yuan Dynasty. In the 16th year of Zhizheng period, he captured Jiqing Road and changed his name to Yingtian. In the 24th year of Zhizheng period, he was called King of Wu. He successively eliminated separatist forces such as Chen Youliang and Zhang Shicheng. In the first year of Wu, he called on "driving out the Hu barbarians and restoring China" and sent Xu Da and Chang Yuchun to lead troops in the Northern Expedition to overthrow the rule of the Yuan Dynasty. In the first month of the first year of Hongwu, the emperor was located in Yingtian Mansion. The country was named Daming and the reign was named Hongwu. In the autumn of the same year, Dadu was captured, ending the Yuan Dynasty's rule across the country. Later, the southwest, northwest, Liaodong and other places were pacified, and the country was finally unified.
