Down-on-his-luck college student Hu Rui is about to graduate and become unemployed. He humbly applies for an internship, only to have a meteor fall from the sky and lead him to a mysterious blue orb. He thinks he's found a treasure, but the orb turns out to contain a female ghost who wants to harm people.
After narrowly escaping, Hu Rui strikes a deal with the ghost and acquires a cultivation technique. But once he begins practicing it, he turns into a 180-jin “big fatso” with purple blood.
