"The forty-one volumes of "The Complete Works of Wang Yangming" are supplemented and edited based on the thirty-eight volumes of the old "The Complete Works of Wang Wencheng".
1. This book is based on the 38-volume version of "The Complete Works of Wang Wencheng" engraved by Xie Tingjie in the 6th year of Longqing reign of the Ming Dynasty (referred to as the "original") in the Zhejiang Library as the original version. The Wenyuange version of "Sikuquanshu", the "Four Essentials" version, the "Basic Series of Chinese Studies", the Chinese Library version and the "Complete Works of Wang Yangming" published in Taiwan and Japan are used as the reference version.
2. Wu Guang is responsible for the editing, drafting and reprinting of this book. Qian Ming is responsible for collecting and organizing old and unpublished poems. The division of proofreading work for each volume is as follows: Wu Guang proofreads volumes 1 to 3, volume 41; Dong Ping proofreads volumes 4 to 11, and volumes 19 to 25; Yao Yanfu proofreads volumes 12 to 18, and volumes 37 to 39; Qian Ming proofreads volumes 26 to 36, and volume 40.
3. This book is based on the simplified horizontal layout of the traditional vertical layout of the 1992 edition of Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House. Because it is for general readers, the collation notes of the traditional Chinese version have been deleted, but the relevant text has been directly modified based on the conclusions of the original collation. At the same time, several punctuation or text errors in the traditional Chinese version have been corrected. "
Reader comments
This book is very in-depth, especially Wang Yangming's views on "investigating things to achieve knowledge", which inspired me very much. He emphasizes practice and inner perception, which is similar to the "Zhuan Xi Lu" I have read before. Wang Yangming's method of coping with complex situations mentioned in the book also reminded me of some wisdom in the Analects of Confucius. In short, this is a good book worth reading again and again, which can help people find inner peace in their impetuous life.
